Susan Hill

The name of this piece is “Fault Lines.” Fault lines occur in diverse contexts – between   tectonic plates, within human relationships, in objects. This piece is all about lines – specifically, about fault lines. When they slip – and sooner or later, they always do – there is a realignment, a shift within each plate’s strata, for example – as well as in the relationship between one plate or side and another. In a best-case scenario, as we have here, the break becomes a join, stronger than before – until the next time.

Commercial fabrics, machine pieced, hand quilted.
