Paola Zanda – Country – Landscape
Lavaux terraced vineyards
Switzerland is a small country, with various landscapes go from the Alps to the plains to lakes, rivers and cities. Among all these possibilities, it was difficult for me to choose the theme for this challenge.
I found a design of the Lavaux terraced vineyards that are Unesco world heritage site since 2007. From that, I started my quilt. I decided to keep the autumn palette for the landscape.
The technique is appliqué and freehand quilted.
Commercial cotton or satin cotton fabrics painted with Procion MX colours.
Sewing and embroidery thread.
Beautiful, lovely warm colours. Well done.
Love the colour palette and the mood of this place. Wouldn’t mind to taste this vine 🙂
