Bozena Wojtaszek – Book #2

The second book I wanted to commemorate in this series is “My life in France” by Alex Prud’homme and Julia Child. It was the first time I really “got her” and since then I was hooked. I never used her recipes but I love her vibrant personality and her joy of life (and food!) she shared with the world. And when I think about Julia in France the baguette and roasted chicken comes to mind first. Bon appetit!

Commercial cottons and linens, machine quilting, hand applique.

  1. It looks so real and it makes me hungry! I love your fabric choice and 3D

    napkins. Lovely!

  2. The baguette is a typical symbol of France. I like the fabric of the roast chicken and the writing that frames this table, which is furnished with typical tablecloths. The idea of wrapping the baguette with the embossed napkin is clever. Bravo!

  3. studiociboulette

Very appetising quilt! I love your choice of fabrics and your composition. Great attention to details with the wrapping towel folded over. Beautiful hand and machine work. Bravo!

  4. What fun you have captured this feeling of Julia, she was a delight to watch on her cooking programs. Well done

  5. Great choice of book; I love the baguette and chicken! The choice of fabric is very ‘French’ tying the whole quilt together. The stitched lettering and frame bring the perfect finishing touch. Lovely work, well done.

  6. Chantal Guillermet

I’m in awe of all the fabrics and kitchen-related ideas you use!
The chicken and the baguette are very realistic. Bravo !

  7. Wow! You have created an inviting composition with appetizing food. Great choice of fabrics and the presentation of the food is impressive. Well done.

  8. I adore the baguette, so life like! And the serviette enveloping it, beautiful! This quilt really feels very French, well done!

  9. joanbrailsford

A great depiction of the typical French food, and I love the composition that make it look as though the table has just been set for a leisurely meal. I love the way that your stitched words make it look like the cover of a book

  10. Your work makes me hungry for a piece of chicken in a baguette as well. The execution is excellent, the details go so well with the theme. Love the fabric you chose for the chicken

  11. Excellent construction of the chicken and bread. The fabrics are great and the whole is a lovely illustration of your thoughts on the text.

  12. Such a fun composition, I can almost smell the bread and roast chicken!

  13. Love your table setting with the napkins, the wrapped baguette and the plate with the flowered edge. It is so typical french. Just beautiful.
