Dessert

The second piece in the “Feasting with Paul Klee” series – Dessert.

Done in my old, favorite techniques – commercial fabrics stitched and quilted by machine with small additions of hand applique.

I really like this piece, the choice of fabrics with the blasts of colour work so well and fit both the style of Klee and your subject matter. great work, well done.

  2. Chantal Guillermet

Well balanced piece ! the red dots bring a joyful note to the piece !

  3. Beautiful interpretation with your use of these, material, design and spots of colour to direct our attention throughout the design.

I like your originality to introduce food in a Klee piece. Beautifully done. Bravo!

  5. I really love how you combined your own “food” style with the work of Paul Klee. So nice to have the cherry of the ice coupe repeated over the whole piece. Nice composition.

  6. A lovely piece made of beautiful fabrics and such expertly executed cherries. Very bold decision to enter the snow white ice cream as the focus of attention.

  7. Maryte Collard

The simplicity of your piece is what really makes it great. You are able to say so much with so few shapes. Truly amazing.

  8. Nice work with a hint to food and excellent use of colorful fabrics.

I love the use of these colours and fabrics and the way that the stitching has been done to add detail. It makes me feel very warm and cosy, and hungry for the desserts that are in the deign. Beautiful work

  10. Your background interpretation, choice of colors and fabrics, blend both your styles and works perfectly with your dessert theme. The added bold pop of color and stitching details keeps your eyes moving and are beautifully executed.

  11. I like the colours in this quilt and the grid of stitching anchoring the fabric pieces. The dessert looks almost edible and the repetition of the red cherry is very effective.

  12. Your interpretation of Klee’s simple lines and shapes is spot-on. The bursts of red keep the viewer’s eye moving throughout your artwork.

  13. I like the colors and composition of the background. The red cherries are well placed.
