Sonia Ruiz – Photoshoot

True love

Inspiration:  The wedding of my daughter at Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico.

My daughter is getting married this November in Los Cabos, Mexico, and the seascape scene I created is going to be a gift to her.  The most famous landmark in Los Cabo, is  El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, known locally as simply “El Arco” or The Arch.  It meant lot to me to design this quilt for her and I’m sure she will love it.

I hand dyed the sky and rock fabrics, wrinkled and scrunched the rock fabric, trapped embroidery floss under folded tulle for the sea, appliquéd my silhouettes, embellished with cheesecloth and pearls then free motioned quilted it.

  3. She will treasure it, I am sure ! I like the black silhouettes contrasting on the background.
