Sheryl Meech – Series #3 On the Coast Pohutukawa
Pohutukawa ia a coastal tree, I live 2 minutes from the beach and have a wonderful view of Kapiti Island, which I have depicted in this piece. The san on the West Cost of the North Island is grey and in some places quite stony.
Techniques: I have used Baby Muslin to show the breaking of the waves. I also used this for the tree. I painted this with two greens and then used French knots to portray the flowers.

It is a nice and peaceful piece. I like how you used the baby Muslin for the brake of the waves. Your free motion quilting is very good.
Once again you have managed to create wonderful effects with the added texture and I love the way that you have created the sea.
