Lin Hsin-Chen – Series #2 – Journey Series #2: Memento of Japan
Spring is in the air! The fresh and brand new atmosphere brings people joy. This is how we feel about spring. However, situation has changed due to global warming. There has been no rain in southern Taiwan this spring, which results in severe water scarcity. Plants lost their vitality! It is so sad that flowers don’t bloom properly in spring. I hope the flowers on my work can bring people hope and blessings!
Materials: Japanese antique fabrics, silk, satin, dyes fabrics, Japanese kimono fabrics, metallic thread, chiffon, lace

Thank you Caro, Chantal and Kaylene. I am happy with the theme that I have chosen. I have been enjoying creating my Journey series so far. Playing with the fabrics that I collected when traveling always reminds me the happy memories! I am glad to have the opportunity to create them and share with you all.
Lin, you’ve struck just the right note of spring with this one — and I really feel transported to Japan (which I’ve never visited) with your memories of that country expressed in textiles.
