Margaret Horton – Progress – Waxing and Waning
I have found immense pleasure in pondering how to interpret the many ‘themes’ we have had and ‘Progress’ was no exception. There were so many ways to go and ideas came thick and fast, but translating them has been the problem.
I decided to forget about all my ideas for a while (it’s nice to have two months to complete, instead of one) and on chatting to my husband about the theme, he suggested that I perhaps could do something based on the progress of the moon around the earth and that’s when I ‘got going’.
So….I have very much simplified the design and apologise to any ‘would be astrologers’ out there, who may have a few words to say about my interpretation, but poetic licence comes in very handy sometimes. I’m glad we have to present these statements, as I’m sure most people would really wonder what I was trying to portray, but hey, what does it matter, fun was had and that’s what matters.

I love your pieced moons, Margaret! And the delicate way you’ve shown the ‘waxing’ and ‘waning’…
