Tree in full bloom-1
For this piece I’m coming closer: I’m zooming in to a tree.
When spring is coming almost all trees are without leaves. The first tree that’s getting in full bloom is a Prunus. Every year I’m in awe when this tree is totally pink.
The background for this piece is more or less like my former one. I quilted this in straight horizontal lines.
The tree trunk is made of commercial fabric, manipulated with shrink fabric. I did free-motion quilting for the tree. After that I added pink batik which I cut in very small pieces and also small pieces of embroidery yarn. This I covered with chiffon. The tree is free-motion quilted with variegated thread.
I also used a part of a picture of a Prunus tree; transferred the picture with gel medium of white fabric

A great subject and beautifully worked. The detail of the blossom and the addition of the photograph work very well to create a really beautiful tree in full bloom. Love it!
Here too, plum trees are the first flowering trees, and they are splendid and herald the arrival of spring. You built it very well, and it stands out against the lovely background. The photo insert is clever. Bravo!

I also really like the shibori-like background fabric and the shadows of the leafless trees.
Marvellous, my prunus is bare twigs at the moment, so your beautiful quilt is reminding me of what is to come in a few month. The blossoms are terrific, it is not always easy to keep everything in place under chiffon. Bravo

This quilt is such a beautiful follow-up of your previous winter-trees. I love your pink prunus flowers and the insert of the transferred photo makes it even more interesting. The manipulated tree trunk stands out very nicely against the different colors green on the bottom Very well done.
