Landscapes – Lupine fields along the Cardrona River
On our trip to New Zealand’s South Island we came upon large fields of glorious tall lupines in pinks, purples and whites. They grew along the Cardrona River in the Fiordland National Park. I took many photos, one of which served as my inspiration for this quilt.
Fusing of commercial cotton fabrics, steam-a-seam, tule, free motion embroidery.

A striking piece and the lupins were instantly recognisable. You have really captured the ambience of the photo, nice work.
