Maryte Collard – C
Inspiration: I will continue on the same path for all letters, by exploring the letter itself as the main design element.
As in letters S and P, I pieced the background using my own hand dyed fabrics, mostly in pastels. This time I chose green and purple but I added same red, yellow and orange, and a touch of blue. When quilts are close together touching each other, those colors transition from one quilt to another. The same three diamonds with stronger green this time. The same fabric and hand stitching for the letter. I want every letter at some point to reach the edge of the quilt. When they all are finished and put together, the letters will make their own design. When I move quilts around, this design will change.
Everything is done using my favorite technique of machine piecing and dense machine quilting. Letter is hand stitched.

Maryte how well planned your pieces are and I love the flow of colour between them, although the ‘C’ colours first appear, on their own, to be more muted than previous pieces when they are placed together they are far more vibrant. Great work!
