Susan Hill – Elements – Earth, Air, Fire and Water
The name of this piece is “The Elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water.” In Western tradition, these four elements, on their own or in combination one with another, make up everything we know. I’ve tried to capture that by stitching across color lines. As I worked, I thought about what I might do differently – what other path I might try – if I were to start again. Whatever else I might do, the principle would be the same: at bottom, everything, no matter how apparently complex, is made of only a very few fundamental components.
