Bozena Wojtaszek – Time #3

Youth

It is time when the lace of our own life becomes more visible. We build first connections and relations on our own. They are of big importance at the moment although we don’t know which of them survive and what role may they play in future. We also start to see that we too can add something to our surroundings by bringing new people and interests to our family. Slowly we start connecting dots but still remain focused on ourselves with the hope that our lace is unique and has no end.

Machine quilting and hand beading on the pieced and slightly dyed background.

  1. I like the philosophy of your statement and the idea of connecting the dots. The colours are very harmonious and your embellishments are precise and well thought out.

  2. I find your pieces and the interpretation of “time” very interesting and thought-provoking. Beautiful stitching both by hand and by machine, and the beads give a nice effect.

  3. Minimalist work with the use of color in all its shades. I love the combination of beads in the work and the place that the lace takes up.

  4. I like the story behind your pieces and how it evolves. The stitching and the beading on the surface are very harmonious.

A great continuation to your series which is visibly evolving step by step. The fabrics all work so well and the detail in the stitching really makes the piece. Great work!

  6. A beautiful piece of work with some thought provoking philosophy behind it. The stitching and beadwork are very effective.

  7. I love how the piece of lace connects all your work into one integral story. As always, stitching and beading adds a lot of interest to the background.

This is becoming a lovely story of the progression of life. I love the way that the embellishments change throughout the series to tell the story but the colour palette remains the same. Great work

  9. Using the metaphor of lace and beading details to describe the delicate, intertwining nature of human connections over time is very effective in continuing the journey of aging and relationships. Lovely.
