Yellow man
Based upon “Portrait of a Yellow Man” which hangs at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the original painting was created during Klee’s Expressionism period. Expressionist artists try to convey emotion and meaning rather than reality. Klee is trying to provoke emotion in the viewer with distortion and exaggeration. Mine is an intentionally simple line drawing with little change in value. Materials used were commercial cottons and watercolor pencils.

This works so well, the stitching of the background really accentuates the simple form of the distorted face. Great work!
