Century plant
Agave arizonica is a rare plant, endemic to Arizona. It is a hybrid between two species of Agave. It blooms after 25 to 30 years, then the plant dies. The plant is only about 30 to 90 cm in height, but the blooms come at the top of a long shaft that shoots up to 3,5 meters tall.
Materials and technique: cotton fabrics, hand dyed fabric, cotton batting, poly thread. Machine pieced background, raw edge applique century plant, machine quilted.
