Elsy Menko – Book #6

The Bible – the Creation – day six
Day six was a busy day. All the animals came into being “…He made the beasts of the earth .. the cattle .. and everything that creepeth on the ground”. And the ultimate of the creation: “… created man in His own image … male and female created He them”. In my quilt I have hand stitched verses describing the sixth day in a circular fashion echoing our round globe, depicted different animals in twosomes – male and female – as well as a male and female figure. The blooms in the corners are there to remind us of how beautiful this world is and the animals remind us of the upcoming story of Noah and his ark of animals, male and female.
Commercial cotton fabrics, fusing, hand stitching, free machine embroidery.
