The Bible – the Creation – day five
On day five of the Creation the great sea monsters were created and every living creature in the waters as well as the winged fowl to fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. I had great fun creating the sea monsters and small sea creatures in a dark blue deep ocean. For the winged fowl I hand stitched a murmuration of starlings, which in nature is such a spectacular sight with constantly changing swerving patterns in the sky. Some Hebrew bible text is included.
Hand stitching, machine piecing and stitching. Cotton fabrics, tule, beads, sequins, metallic threads.
FIFTEEN BY FIFTEEN 
It is amazing how you made a murmuration of starlings. With simple stitches and layers of tule you achieved the incredible movement in the sky.
