SYMBOLS OF TIME
Inspiration – the definition of time and how it is a measurable period or process. In Celtic mythology there is a symbol representing the three phases of the moon—the waxing moon, full moon, and waning moon—it is a symbol of the cycles of nature, the feminine divine, and the mysteries of life, death, and rebirth.
I used fours layers of fabric, the top a printed cotton, the second a batik cotton print, a light weight batting and a backing of printed cotton. This allowed me to use the reverse applique technique to reveal the batik cotton. I chose to hand quilt the top in swirls and circular pattern to reinforce the concept of the motion of time.

Love your concept and execution. Simple yet powerful design and the quilting makes it singing!
A striking piece; the colours are well chosen as is the subject. Your stitching is lovely and adds depth to your work. Well done!
