Genevieve Guadalupe – Time #2

Our time lines crossing others

Drawing on ideas from metaphysics and quantum theory, personal timelines are thought to shift, cross, and weave with others through choices, emotional changes, and shared experiences. These shifts, often sparked by personal growth or environmental changes, produce a bifurcation of timelines where parallel realities coexist. Individual decisions generate unique timelines that continually interact with others’, forming a vast, interconnected web rather than a single, fixed path. A timeline shift is commonly felt during major life transitions, spiritual awakenings, or when relationships and surroundings no longer resonate with one’s current frequency, as described in related concepts. While each person experiences a distinct personal timeline, these often overlap and align with others, especially during significant collective or personal events. Multiple versions of events may exist simultaneously, with alternative realities exploring different outcomes for the same or different people.
The idea is that we aren’t bound to a single fixed, linear path. Instead, we continually navigate—and, at times, co-create—a dynamic, ever-shifting web of timelines that wobbles and changes.

Materials and technique: cotton fabric, cotton batting, poly thread, embroidery thread, printing ink. Monoprint on fabric, machine quilted, thread drawing, hand embroidery.

  1. I love how you are exploring quantum physics! Colors, lines and shapes work together in your design and reflect on how the universe works. Bravo!

  2. Love the scientific background of your series and the way you visualize it, very effective!

  3. Very fascinating to think about life as a dynamic web of timelines.
You convey this so effectfully with your piece. Beautifully executed!

  4. I like the idea that we aren’t bound to a single path and how you translated it in your piece. We can experience so many connections in our life !

  5. You have explored some interesting theories here and presented a very striking quilt as illustration of the web of connections. I like the colours used and the quilting gives lovely texture.

  6. As always, I admire your ability to describe something metaphysics and quantum theory, and turn it into an interesting quilt creation combining a variety of materials and color.

I like the idea of how our timelines interact and collide during the passage of time, and I think that you have created a piece that demonstrates this perfectly. It shows the balance of such interactions and how we ‘pass’ one another. The colour palette and the lines of quilting emphasis this. Well done
