Challenge for April/May

Our next challenge is Garden”. This theme can  be interpreted in many ways as there are gardens…Japanese…hanging…patio…vegetable…flower gardens, and then there are the all the implements that we use in a garden…spades..forks..water cans etc.

No matter the interpretation, the quilts that will be revealed at the end of May will be exciting to see and interpret.

Challenge – Lines

Our first challenge is based on the theme “Lines”. According to the Getty Museum “line is an identifiable path created by a point moving in space. It is one-dimensional and can vary in width, direction, and length. Lines often define the edges of a form. Lines can be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, straight or curved, thick or thin. They lead your eye around the composition and can communicate information through their character and direction.” Below are images of the quilts the group created to view the artist’s statement you can go to the Quilt Gallery and click on the thumbnail, or click on the artist’s name under the ARTIST GALLERY.
