DESERT # 2 : Wadi Rum

The photo that served as inspiration was taken in the Wadi Rum desert in Jordan at the end of the day.

As with the previous one, I used fabrics painted with ochres and the same reverse appliqué technique with monofilament. After quilting I worked on the different parts with inktense blocks to accentuate the areas of light and shadow. I worked mainly on the shadows. The sky and mountains are made with fabrics that I dyed.
