Chantal Guillermet – Decay #1

Faded Leaves

My series on the theme of Decay will be a representation of the passage of time in association with nature, for which I’ll be using some of my eco-prints;

Nature will sometimes be associated with architecture and the representation of buildings transformed into ruins.

In nature, plants are subject to decay due to the cycle of the seasons with humidity, drought, cold and heat. Before turning into humus, the leaves become so thin that only the veins remain. The surrounding vegetation becomes desiccated and is blackening.

Eco-print on linen, self-dyed cotton and buttercloth, inktense pencils, free-motion-quilting, hand embroidery.
