Bozena Wojtaszek – Decay #4

Part IV of my personal diary of Decay. With the seasons passing by, new rythms come to the scene. Some of the new structures are too weak to survive. But the others become stronger and more dramatic.

Technique – antique and vintage fabrics, machine quilted, hand embroidered and beaded.

  1. It looks to me like the wind is blowing through your quilt and the weak structures are falling down when the strong structures survive and stand tall. The same about us, humans. We have to stand tall through the winds of our lives. I fully understand why you chose this topic.

    Your beads are very interesting…

  2. This is a great continuation of your series. There is great contrast between the desolation and more positiveness with your mix of strong images and delicate colour palette. Well done!

  3. It’s so nice to see how the dark trees and hand-embroidered details follow your entire series.
    Beautifully executed piece.

  4. There are so many interesting textures and details contained in you quilt, so much to examine. I really like the beading and the netting.

There is a strong feeling of chaos between the different elements of this quilt. But the more interesting is the textures and embroideries you added on the surface.

This is a beautiful selection of fabrics and design that gives the sense of time passing and things being swept way. The stitching and details are perfect. Lovely work

  7. A great inspiration for your quilt on how nature does renew itself amongst decay. Like your design and the contrast you have accomplished to depict your theme.

  8. Lots of contrast here and a real feeling of wind moving through the scene. Great use of stitching and beadwork.

  9. You have achieved great movement in this quilt. Love the hand stitching and the resulting textures. The beading and netting are wonderful additions. Beautiful palette.

I so love your work. Your choice of fabrics and composition. The hand stitching gives so much movement to your quilt. Beautiful attention to details and beading work. Excellent! Bravo!

  11. The texture is very interesting and the black blends nicely into the background. I love the combination of beads in the work and the stitching.

  12. S nice to see how your series develops. Each quilt made with almost the same colors and fabrics, but all are different.

  13. Another beautiful addition to your series. I love the movement and the dark and light contrast. Lovely stitching and beading. Well done.

  14. The texture you’ve created with your choice of fabrics, layering of fabrics, hand stitching and beadwork is amazing! Well done.
