Helen Hazon – Decay #6

Inspiration – the naturally occurring decay of unstable atoms.

This final quilt in my Decay series focuses on Gamma radiation – powerful energy released when large, unstable atoms decay to become more stable. Gamma radiation is also sometimes released during alpha and beta decay.

All materials are cotton. Surface stitching is rayon.

  1. Thanks for showing us totally new face of decay, good job!

  2. Great work this has been an educational series. Well done.

  3. A fitting end to your series. Beautifully stitched as usual. Well done.

  4. Very minimalistic and clean, just like all your quilts. Amazingly you found decay where I would never look for it, thank you for the lesson.

  5. Good end to this informative series that looked at decay in a novel way. Beautifully stitched as always.

  6. Although the subject matter itself is a bit over my head, I really appreciate the shape, the stitching and the colors.
    Beautiful final piece.

  7. I must admit that your series has been an educational series for me. Each work contributed something more to the knowledge. I really appreciate it, your work is clean and precise.

  8. I have learnt different things looking at your quilts and this piece is a perfect end to your series. As usual your stitching is perfect and clean.
