Greetje Hein – Decay #6

Decay #6

Renault Super 7

The last piece of my Decay series is a tractor.

This old tractor was standing very proudly on a fair, asking to take a photo of him.

The photo is the inspiration of Decay #6.

I used hand-dyed fabric for the background and the tractor himself is created with commercial.

I stitched very tiny pleads fort he ribbed effect of the pipe.

The grill was made with lutrador: stitched and burned with a heatgun.

Of course also the circle with the “new” version.

I used intense pencils to add details.

  1. Love the whole series and this piece is no exception, super!

  2. So vibrant and descriptive of the life of the tractor. Bravo

  3. A wonderful end to your series. Great fabric choices and attention to detail. Well done!

  4. Wonderful fabric choices, I love how the front grid “deteriorated” in your quilt. Bravo!

  6. I really love how you have stayed so true to your theme of old vehicles of all kinds.
The clear circle is also a nice repeating motif.
And as the others, also this piece is truly beautifully executed.

  7. Very effective fabric choices to represent the old tractor. You have included so many techniques to create the different textures and surfaces. Well done.

  8. Very nice work with a touch of detail. many techniques and good colors to complete the work.

  9. From the begining I thought that your idea of the circle was great and it made something special to your series. Very realistic work, bravo !
