Ann Turley – Decay #2

COGS

Continuing with rust as a central element, I have chosen to illustrate a set of rusty cogs, or gears. The fabrics are commercial cottons enhanced with Derwent watercolor pencils and black thread. The piece doesn’t require much stitching for definition as I felt the print did most of the work.

    You are right, the background fabric is so interesting, it gives a lot of movement to the cogs. Great composition and design. Bravo!
