Paola Zanda – Artist style #1
To give continuity to last year’s series, I chose a Swiss artist:
Alberto Giacometti October 10, 1901 – January 11, 1966.
Alberto Giacometti was a sculptor, painter and engraver; he is one of the most important Swiss artists. Although he worked mostly in Paris, he regularly returned to his native valley; the landscapes of the Bregaglia were also a source of inspiration for him.
My first challenge is my self-portrait done in his style. This allowed me to perform the whole design with machine quilting without straining the hands prevented by arthritis in this bad period.
Colicot cotton dyed in layers with acrylic colours.
Machine quilting with embroidery and sewing threads in cotton.
