Dancing Ginko Leaves

Constructed with crystals and hand-dyed cottons.

Inspired by the movement of falling ginko leaves, I’ve created this little quilt. By placing the leaves in a circle I hope to make you think of a folk dance of sorts, or maybe a ballet. Each leaf has arms and a head and is wearing a dress “embroidered” with Ds.

Detail views:

  1. What a clever use of the letter, love the contrasting colours.

  2. Botany fashion and folklore, nice idea. Strong contrast that highlights your dancing leaves.

  3. Beautiful leaves, but once you are drawn in, you can see the tiny fairylike leaves gracefully dancing in their ginko gowns through the air.

  4. What a great take on the subject, I can just see them dancing in the wind dressed in their finery! Great choice of fabrics.

  5. Maryte Collard

Unexpected, but very joyful, just like a folk dance should be. Love your choice of my favorite colors 🙂

  6. I like the humouristic note behind your interpretation ! Good choice of colours.

  7. Lots of movement here and I can see the leaves turning and turning in their lovely dresses. Great colours.

  8. Yes your leaves are happily dancing in their beautiful outfit. Love your contrasting colours.
