Eke Krug – Fascinating water
Water, it is impossible to live without it. You need it to survive. I am a privileged person, to live in a part of the world, where we have enough water for drinking, cooking, cleaning and recreation. Everything that has to do with water is within my reach. It is a part of my life and I cannot imagine living without it.
Water, it has so many sounds. It tickles when it runs out of the tap in the sink, when it falls from the sky on the windows and it rustles when I take a shower. It roars when it comes down from the mountain and whispers when it hits the shoreline. The sound a river makes.
Water, it has so many faces. In a pond it is dark, but put it in a bottle and it is transparent, and you can look through it. The water in the sea can be calm, but also make big waves. Looking over the lake, you see the water lapping, on a cold day it can even be frozen.
My water is the lake water. It is calm, whispering, lapping, having many layers of color and you can watch it for hours, making your head empty. You can see through a little, to see the dark color beyond and you see the reflection of light on top of it.
Water, it’s fascinating….
